Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat Movie: Superstar Jeet Portrays Revolutionary Ananta Singh in the Upcoming Film

On the grand occasion of Rabindra Jayanti, 9th May 2025, Superstar Jeet has officially announced his much-anticipated upcoming film, Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat. The film, directed by young and talented Pathikrit Basu, marks Jeet’s 58th film in a lead role and the 11th directorial venture of Pathikrit Basu.

The film also marks Superstar Jeet's maiden collaboration with director Pathikrit Basu. The film will be jointly produced by Jeet and Pradip Kumar Nandy under the banners of Jeetz Filmworks and Nandy. Movies. Jeet's last appearance was in Neeraj Pandey's Khakee: The Bengal Chapter, directed by Debatma Mandal and Tushar Kanti Ray.

His performance, along with those of Prosenjit Chatterjee, Saswata Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Chitrangada Singh, Ritwik Bhowmik, and Aadil Zafar Khan, received praise along with the film’s execution.

There were a lot of rumours after the success of Khakee: The Bengal Chapter and the shelving of Lion, directed by Raihan Rafi, that Jeet might focus more on Hindi films and move away from Bengali cinema. But his announcement of this upcoming film proved all those rumours wrong.

Jeet takes on the role of Ananta Singh, a revolutionary, in Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat, marking his first appearance in a biopic. He is excited to explore the layered character of a freedom fighter and a dacoit.

The film is set in 1960s Calcutta and tells the story of a mysterious man known for his bravery and dual identity — some saw him as a dacoit, others as a revolutionary. He played a key role in the Chittagong armoury raid and kept fighting for justice even after independence.

Jeet, who is mostly known for entertaining audiences with romantic comedies and action comedies, has been appreciated whenever he stepped into experimental roles, as seen in films like The Royal Bengal Tiger, Asur, and Krishnakanter Will. There is high hope that Keu Bole Biplobi Keu Bole Dakat will offer something equally enjoyable.

Pathikrit Basu worked as an assistant director in the Jeet-starrer action blockbuster film Awara, directed by Ravi Kinnagi. Being a fan of Jeet himself, there are huge expectations from Pathikrit Basu on how he presents Jeet as Ananta Singh—balancing Jeet’s stardom while staying true to the core of the character.

Ananta Singh not only wrote his autobiography titled Keu Bale Biplabi Keu Bale Dakat, but also produced three Bengali films between 1960 and 1966, including the popular Jamalaye Jibanta Manush.

Actor Maninder Singh portrayed Ananta Singh in the 2010 Hindi film Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar, and Jaideep Ahlawat took on the role in the 2012 film Chittagong, directed by Bedabrata Pain.

The announcement has sparked mixed reactions among fans—many are excited to see Jeet experimenting with diverse roles, appreciating his evolution as an actor, while others feel disappointed, preferring him in his familiar mass commercial avatar.
