HIT The Third Case Review: Nani Powers Through a Brutal Thriller That Impresses More Than It Connects

Sailesh Kolanu's written and directed action thriller film HIT: The Third Case starring Nani and Srinidhi Shetty in the lead roles, was released in theatres on 1st May 2025

Story:

The story opens with SP Arjun Sarkaar (Nani), a man battling anxiety and hypertension, who is brought before the court on charges of brutally murdering individuals, recording the acts, and uploading them to a website. What drove Arjun Sarkaar to kill? What hidden truths lie behind his actions?

What Worked:

Nani shines brightly in HIT: The Third Case, bringing his massive screen presence, perfect dialogue delivery, and exceptional performance to the forefront. With a tightly edited first half, the film maintains a strong grip on your attention.

The visual contrast of landscapes is striking, thanks to Sanu John Varghese’s lens, complemented perfectly by Mickey J Meyer’s restrained yet gripping background score.

Srinidhi Shetty is given a substantial role, and she delivers just what the character demands. Her on-screen chemistry with Nani is largely engaging and pleasant to watch. Sailesh Kolanu deserves praise for his sharp execution and for showcasing Nani in a powerful, mass-appealing avatar.

What Didn't Work:

The film leans heavily on gore and lacks emotional depth, with visuals that reflect its unsettling tone. The second half could have benefited from tighter editing to maintain engagement.

Bonus:

Adivi Sesh makes a striking entry as SP Krishna Dev in the climax, setting the stage with a high-octane action sequence. Don’t miss the post-credit scene featuring Karthi as ACP Veerappan, teasing HIT: The Fourth Case.

Box Office:

According to the makers, the film has earned a worldwide gross of Rs 62 crores after just 2 days.

Rating: 8/10
