On April 19, 2025, Kahhak Studios unveiled the official trailer of their much-anticipated romantic drama film Shreeman vs Shreemati. Directed by Pathikrit Basu, the film features Superstar Mithun Chakraborty, Anjana Basu, and Anjan Dutt in lead roles, and is set to release in theatres on May 1, 2025.
Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Madhumita Sarcar, Roshni Bhattacharyya, Biswanath Basu, & Satyam Bhattacharya will portray crucial roles in this film. The nearly 3-minute-long trailer opens with Justice Amal Chowdhury (Mithun Chakraborty), a judge known for never granting divorces, firmly advising couples in court on the importance of relationships and staying together.
Ironically, Amal himself is stuck in a 27-year-old unresolved divorce case with his wife Aparna (Anjana Basu). We’re given glimpses of their bittersweet bond—until the sudden arrival of Nilay (Anjan Dutt), Aparna’s ex-boyfriend, disrupts the fragile peace.
The trailer also dives into other relationship dynamics, highlighting tension-filled moments between Satyam Bhattacharya and Roshni Bhattacharyya, as well as between Parambrata Chattopadhyay and Madhumita Sarcar, adding layers of emotional complexity.
The final scene of the trailer leaves a lasting impact with a gripping face-off between Mithun Chakraborty and Anjan Dutt. When Anjan Dutt delivers a pointed line — "Jara ei Byomkesh korte gechhe sokoler career kintu barota beje gechhe" — Mithun Chakraborty fires back with sharp wit, referencing Anjan Dutt’s iconic song Bela Bose, turning the moment into a fiery exchange that steals the spotlight.
Parambrata and Biswanath try everything to bring Amal and Aparna back together—but with Nilay in the picture, nothing is certain. Will they rekindle old love, or will Nilay rewrite Aparna’s future?
The story and screenplay of this film are penned by Aritra Banerjee, with dialogues written by Arpan Gupta. The music for this film is composed by Indraadip Dasgupta, with cinematography by Gopi Bhagat and editing by Sujoy Dutta Roy.
The film marks the first-ever on-screen collaboration between legendary actors Mithun Chakraborty and Anjan Dutt. Produced under the banner of Kahhak Studios, with Ananda Adhya helming the art direction, the visual aesthetic is in skilled hands.
The film also marks director Pathikrit Basu's maiden collaboration with Anjan Dutt, Anjana Basu, Parambrata Chatterjee, Madhumita Sarcar, Satyam Bhattacharya, Roshni Bhattacharya. Shriman vs Shrimati marks director Pathikrit Basu's 2nd collaboration with Mithun Chakraborty after Shastri.
