Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani: Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone Starring Film Re Released

Ayan Mukerji's directorial coming-of-age romantic comedy film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani re-released in theatres on 7th March 2025. The film's story and screenplay are crafted by Ayan Mukerji, with dialogues penned by Hussain Dalal.

The film, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Kalki Koechlin in lead roles, had its initial release on 31 May 2013. The film marked Ranbir Kapoor's maiden collaboration with Aditya Roy Kapur and Kalki Koechlin.

Hiroo Yash Johar and Karan Johar produced the film under Dharma Productions, with UTV Motion Pictures handling Indian distribution and Eros International managing overseas release.

The film marked director Ayan Mukerji's 2nd collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor after Wake Up Sid. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani was Ayan Mukerji's second directorial venture after his 2009 debut, Wake Up Sid.

Made on a budget of around ₹75 crore, the film earned around ₹319 crore in its initial run and collected ₹25 crore from its re-release in January 2025. At the 59th Filmfare Awards, the film received a leading ten nominations, while at the 15th IIFA Awards, it earned eight nominations and won three awards.

The film marked director Ayan Mukerji's maiden collaboration with Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur, Kalki Koechlin. Pritam composed the music for the film, marking his first collaboration with director Ayan Mukerji and Dharma Productions.

V. Manikandan handled the cinematography, and Akiv Ali edited the film, both working with Ayan Mukerji for the first time. The film marked the 2nd collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone after Bachna Ae Haseeno in 2008.

During a trek, Bunny (Ranbir Kapoor), Aditi (Kalki Koechlin), and Avi’s (Aditya Roy Kapur) vibrant camaraderie intertwines with Naina’s (Deepika Padukone) reserved presence. Bunny’s restless spirit clashes with Naina’s traditional ideals. As they transition from carefree youth to life’s pivotal moments, their bonds are tested, revealing the beauty and fragility of friendships over time.
