Lawho Gouranger Naam Re Movie: Director Srijit Mukherji Unveils First Look Poster

On the auspicious occasion of Holi on March 14, 2025, director Srijit Mukherji unveiled the first look poster of his upcoming film Lawho Gouranger Naam Re. The film will depict three distinct timelines—one set in the present day, another in the 1990s, and the third during the era of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.

Produced by SVF Entertainment and Rana Sarkar’s DAG Creative Media, the film takes a deep dive into an essential phase of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s journey, unraveling the enigma of his disappearance.

The film boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Subhashree Ganguly, Bratya Basu, Indraneil Sengupta, Ishaa Saha, Dibyojyoti Dutta, Parno Mitra, and Darshana Banik. The first-look poster is visually striking and divided into three distinct sections, representing different timelines.

The background of the top section features a film set with bright studio lights, cameras, and rigging, indicating a contemporary time period where Chaitanya Mahaprabhu's story is possibly being recreated.

The middle section showcases a grand stage performance in what appears to be a 19th-century theater with a cheering audience, reflecting the cultural and artistic representation of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s life.

The bottom part is styled as a traditional painting, depicting a barefoot saint (likely Chaitanya Mahaprabhu) walking near a serene river with lotus flowers and a small wooden boat, symbolizing spirituality and devotion.

Dibyojyoti Dutta will portray the role of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He is widely recognized for his performances in popular television series such as Anurager Chhowa, Joyee, Chuni Panna, and Desher Maati.

Subhashree Ganguly will portray the iconic character of Noti Binodini, while Bratya Basu will take on the role of the legendary Girish Chandra Ghosh. The film marks the 3rd collaboration between Srijit Mukherji and Indraneil Sengupta after Autograph (2010) and Mishawr Rawhoshyo (2013)

The film marks director Srijit Mukherji's maiden collaboration with Subhashree Ganguly, Dibyojyoti Dutta, Ishaa Saha, Bratya Basu, and Darshana Banik. The film marks the 2nd collaboration between director Srijit Mukherji and Parno Mitra after Rajkahini in 2015

Lawho Gouranger Naam Re gears up for production in June and eyes a December release. Srijit Mukherji has undoubtedly been one of the most influential filmmakers in the Bengali film industry for nearly a decade and a half.

Since his remarkable debut with Autograph in 2010, he has delivered iconic films like Baishe Srabon, Padatik cementing his place among the finest directors. While his recent works may not have matched the brilliance of his earlier films, his commitment to experimenting with diverse narratives remains commendable. Hopefully, Lawho Gouranger Naam Re will mark a strong comeback and live up to our expectations.
