Badrinath Ki Dulhania: Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt Starring Film Completed 8 Years

 Shashank Khaitan's written and directed romantic comedy film Badrinath Ki Dulhania completed 8 years. The film, produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Bhanwar Singh, and Apoorva Mehta under Dharma Productions, was distributed by Fox Star Studios.

Starring Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, the film was released in theatres on 10 March 2017. Rituraj Singh, Yash Sinha, Shweta Basu Prasad, Swanand Kirkire, Sahil Vaid, Aparshakti Khurana, Aakanksha Singh appeared in crucial roles in this film.

At the 63rd Filmfare Awards, the film secured eight nominations and took home one award. With a production budget of around ₹39 crore, Badrinath Ki Dulhania achieved a remarkable box office collection of over ₹200 crore. The film was nominated in two categories at the International Indian Film Academy Awards and won one.

As the second installment in the Dulhania franchise, this film follows Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), which was directed by Shashank Khaitan, produced by Karan Johar under Dharma Productions, and featured Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.

This franchise continues with its third installment, Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari, expected to release in 2025. Currently in production, the film will see Varun Dhawan return, with Janhvi Kapoor replacing Alia Bhatt as the female lead.
