Chandoo Mondeti's directorial romantic action drama film Thandel starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi in the lead roles, was released in theatres on 7th February 2025
The story revolves around Raju (Naga Chaitanya) and Satya (Sai Pallavi) who share a love that knows no bounds. But when he is crowned Thandel, his fate takes a drastic turn. Disregarding Satya’s concerns, he ventures into the sea, only to be captured after crossing into Pakistani waters. Will Raju make it home, and can their love withstand the distance for Satya?
Naga Chaitanya impresses with his remarkable transformation, portraying a Srikakulam fisherman with sincerity. His dedication shines through, making the performance both compelling and authentic.
Sai Pallavi, known for selecting substantial and meaningful roles, delivers a stellar performance as Satya. She brings raw emotion to her love for Raju, making it deeply believable, and shines exceptionally in the emotional moments.
Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya’s chemistry stands out, even though it lacks proper development. Their stellar performances compensate, making their on-screen connection feel genuine and organic.
With Thandel, Devi Sri Prasad redeems himself, crafting one of his finest compositions. Following the backlash for Pushpa 2, this album marks a strong musical comeback. Chandoo Mondeti excels in drawing out stellar performances from Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya while seamlessly blending love and patriotism.
However, the development of Raju and Satya’s chemistry and the editing could have been more refined. Thandel delivers a compelling mix of romance, heartfelt emotions, outstanding performances, and mesmerizing music, making it a thoroughly engaging watch.
