On February 21, 2025, Vikram Chatterjee shared a motion poster confirming the release date of his upcoming film, Durgapur Junction. Produced by Dreamliner Entertainment, the film is set to release in theatres on April 25, 2025.
Arindam Bhattacharya directs this murder mystery, which is based on a real-life incident from the U.S. but has been adapted to a Durgapur setting. The investigation took six months to reach a conclusion.
The film features Vikram Chatterjee as the investigating officer and Swastika Mukherjee as an investigative journalist, leading the cast as the male and female protagonists, respectively.
Durgapur Junction marks the third collaboration between Vikram Chatterjee and Swastika Mukherjee, following Aami O Aamar Girlfriends and Saheb Bibi Golam.
The film also marks director Arindam Bhattacharya's maiden collaboration with Vikram Chatterjee. Durgapur Junction marks director Arindam Bhattacharya's 2nd collaboration with Swastika Mukherjee after Shibpur.
Sujay Datta Ray edited this film marking his 2nd collaboration with director Arindam Bhattacharya after Shibpur. Prosenjit Chowdhury handled the cinematography marking his 3rd collaboration with director Arindam Bhattacharya after Shibpur, Aparichito-The Unknown.
Sohum Sree Tiru composed the music for this film. The motion poster has a dark, intense tone, with a prominent visual of a lifeless hand lying on the ground, surrounded by scattered red, white, and blue pills, suggesting a crime, overdose, or tragedy. The background is blurred, creating a sense of mystery and suspense.
Vikram Chatterjee was last seen in the recently released romantic drama Omorshongi, directed by Dibya Chatterjee and co-starring Sohini Sarkar. Swastika Mukherjee was last seen in director Srijit Mukherji’s Tekka, co-starring Dev and Rukmini Maitra.
