Salman Khan Starring Maine Pyar Kiya Turned 35 Years

Sooraj Barjatya's directorial romantic musical film Maine Pyar Kiya turned 35 years. The film was produced by Tarachand Barjatya under the banner of Rajshri Productions. Maine Pyar Kiya starring Salman Khan and Bhagyashree in the lead roles, was released in theatres on 29th December 1989.

S. M. Ahale has written the story and Sooraj Barjatya has written the screenplay and dialogues of this film. Aravind Laad handled the Cinematography and Mukhtar Ahmed edited this film

The film marked directorial debut of Sooraj Barjatya. The film marked debut of Salman Khan and Bhagyashree in a lead role. The film marked director Sooraj Barjatya's maiden collaboration with Salman Khan and Bhagyashree. With a worldwide gross collection of over Rs 45 crores, Maine Pyar Kiya became the highest grossing Indian film of 1989.

The film marked maiden collaboration between Salman Khan and Bhagyashree. Alok Nath, Reema Lagoo, Ajit Vachani, Rajeev Verma, Mohnish Bahl, Laxmikant Berde appeared in supporting roles in this film.

Maine Pyar Kiya draws inspiration from director Sujit Guha's 1987 romantic drama Amar Sangee, featuring Prosenjit Chatterjee, Vijayeta Pandit, Subhendu Chatterjee and Rabi Ghosh. Raamlaxman composed the music of this film marking his maiden collaboration with director Sooraj Barjatya's and Salman Khan.

Out of its twelve nominations, Maine Pyar Kiya secured six Filmfare Awards at 35th Filmfare Awards, including Best Film, Best Director, Best Lyricist, Best Male Playback Singer, Best Male Debut, and Best Female Debut.

Maine Pyar Kiya was dubbed into Spanish and released under the title Te Amo. Vindu Dara Singh, Deepak Tijori, and Faraaz Khan auditioned for the role of Prem, while Shabina Dutt auditioned for the role of Suman. However, none of them were selected. Although Salman Khan was initially rejected for the role of Prem after his audition, he ultimately secured the part.
