Khokababu: Superstar Dev and Subhashree Ganguly Starring Film Turned 13 Years

D. Shankar Aiyya's directorial action comedy film Khokababu turned 13 years. The film was produced by Ashok Dhanuka and Himanshu Dhanuka under the banner of Eskay Movies.

The film, starring Superstar Dev, Subhashree Ganguly, and Ferdous Ahmed in the lead roles, was released in theatres on 13th January 2012. The film marked the directorial debut of choreographer D. Shankar Aiyya.

The film marked the maiden collaboration between Dev and Ferdous Ahmed. The film marked director D. Shankar Aiyya's maiden collaboration with Dev, Subhashree Ganguly.

Laboni Sarkar, Biswajit Chakraborty, Locket Chatterjee, Ashish Vidyarthi, Biplab Chatterjee, Subhasish Mukherjee, Aritra Dutta Banik appeared in supporting roles in this film. Sirsha Ray handled the cinematography marking his maiden collaboration with director D. Shankar Aiyya.

Rishi Chanda composed the music for this film marking his 3rd collaboration with Dev after Dui Prithibi and Shedin Dekha Hoyechilo. The film marked 3rd collaboration between Dev and Subhashree Ganguly after Challenge, Paran Jai Jaliya Re.

Mohammad Kalam Khan and Saikat Sengupta edited this film marking his maiden collaboration with director D. Shankar Aiyya. Khokababu marked the 14th film for Dev in a lead role since making his debut in 2006 with Director Prabir Nandi's film Agnishapath.

The film was the remake of director Srinu Vaitla's action comedy film Dhee starring Vishnu Manchu, Genelia D'Souza, Srihari, and Brahmanandam. Khokababu marked Subhashree Ganguly's seventh film overall and her sixth Bengali film in a lead role.

Subhashree Ganguly made her acting debut in 2008 with the Odia film Mate Ta Love Helare, directed by Ashok Pati. She later made her Bengali debut with Pitribhumi.
