On 25th June 2024, Hoichoi confirmed that director Soukarya Ghosal’s food fantasy film, Rainbow Jelly, will premiere on their platform on 28th June 2024. The film stars Mahabrata Basu, Anumegha Banerjee, Sreelekha Mitra, and Kaushik Sen in the lead roles, with Shantilal Mukherjee, Daminee Basu, and Subhajit Das in supporting roles.
The story of this film is based on a 12-year-old boy, Ghoton (Mahabrata Basu), who is a cook and lives with his maternal uncle, Gondaria (Kaushik Sen). His uncle does not love him and treats him as a maid, making him complete all the household chores. How Ghoton’s life changes with the arrival of a mysterious woman named Pori Pishi (Sreelekha Mitra) will be unveiled in the film.
Soukarya Ghosal, Nabarun Bose, and Megh Banerjee have composed the music for this film. Aalok Maity is the Director of Photography (DOP), and Arghyakamal Mitra is the editor. The film was released in theatres on 25th June 2018 and is considered one of the best in director Soukarya Ghosal’s career, having won many awards like the Hyderabad Bengali Film Festival, Hiralal Sen Award, and WBFJA Awards in different categories.
