On 1st April 2024, Hoichoi unveiled the official trailer of the upcoming thriller Rumi, starring Chanchal Chowdhury and directed by Vicky Zahed. The web series will premiere on 10th April on Hoichoi. Reekita Nondine Shimu, Abdun Noor Shajal, Afia Tabassum, Shahadat Hossain, and Deepa Khandakar will be seen in supporting roles.
The 2-minute 10-second trailer highlights a brief story that revolves around Rumi (Chanchal Chowdhury), a blind detective traumatized by his mother's death. He always believed his mother's death was an accident until one day someone told him that she was killed. He dreams of a girl he has never met in real life, and that girl gets killed. Who killed her and why? Will Rumi be able to find out the killer?
Chanchal Chowdhury’s performance, Amit Chatterjee's background score, and Vicky Zahed's dialogues are the major highlights of this trailer. The more you see Chanchal Chowdhury, the more you learn how versatile an actor can be. He takes on one character at a time and portrays it with utmost conviction and perfection. He is an institution of acting.
Two dialogues, "Baaghe Chhule Aatharo Gha, Police Chhule Chhotris Gha Ar Kana Police Chhule Bahattor Gha," and "Bojho Nai Byapar Ta?" are the most attention-grabbing in the trailer. The latter one reminded us of Chanchal Chowdhury's other blockbuster, Aynabaji.
The story, screenplay, and dialogues of this series have been written by Vicky Zahed, while Bidrohi Dipon has handled the cinematography and Aurnob Hasnat has edited the series. It has been produced by Quiet on Set Production. There are high expectations from Rumi as the series marks the maiden collaboration between Chanchal Chowdhury and Vicky Zahed, as well as between Hoichoi and Vicky Zahed.
