Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty Story:

The romantic comedy "Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty," directed by Mahesh Babu Pachigolla, hit theaters on September 7, 2023. The film, featuring Anushka Shetty, Naveen Polishetty, Murali Sharma, Sonia Deepti, Jayasudha, Tulasi, & Abhinav Gomatam in the lead roles, was produced with a budget of Rs 12.5 crores. It marks Anushka Shetty’s comeback to the big screen after more than three years since her last movie, "Bhaagamathie," was released in 2018.

The story revolves around Master Chef Anvitha (Anushka Shetty), who resides in the UK with her mother (Jayasudha). Her mother continually urges her to get married, fearing she won't always be there for her, but Anvitha resists her pleas. Her mother's dying wish is to breathe her last breath in India, so they journey to India. After her mother's passing, Anvitha decides to become a single mother through intrauterine insemination (IUI).

With the support of her friend Kavya (Sonia Deepti), she embarks on a quest to find the perfect sperm donor, someone who possesses all the qualities she desires. Her search comes to an end when she encounters Sidhu (Naveen Polishetty), a part-time stand-up comedian. The question remains: can she persuade him to become a sperm donor?

Director Mahesh Babu Pachigolla deserves praise for his brilliant storytelling and the heartwarming nature of this romantic comedy. This film is his second directorial venture, following his debut with "Ra Ra Krishnayya" in 2014, and it leaves us eager to see what entertaining projects he will bring in the future.

The film's standout elements are the performances of Naveen Polishetty and Anushka Shetty and the captivating on-screen chemistry they share. While the writing could have been stronger, and the pacing felt a bit sluggish before the interval, the sharp editing could have trimmed the film by 15-20 minutes.

Naveen Polishetty made his debut in 2012 with "Life Is Beautiful," which means that "Miss. Shetty Mr. Polishetty" is his 7th film in his 10-year career. Anushka Shetty made her debut in 2005 with the action thriller "Super," making "Miss. Shetty Mr. Polishetty" her 44th film in an 18-year career.

While the film faced tough competition at the box office, clashing with Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan," it successfully checks most of the boxes for a refreshing romantic comedy. If you're a fan of fresh rom-com dramas, it's definitely worth a watch.
