Indu 2 Review: Story & Performances

The Police continue their investigation to find out the real culprit behind the death of Sujato’s (Suhotra Mukhopadhyay) wife Laboni (Manali Manisha Dey). Sujato assigned Indu (Ishaa Saha) the task to find out the person behind all the unfortunate events that occurred in her life. Will Indu be able to resolve all the mysteries and find out the real culprit?

The creator of a good mystery thriller must know the timing to reveal the mysteries and that is one area Indu 2 failed. Season 2 failed to answer so many questions audiences might have expected. The makers did not reveal everything here and decided to stretch it further for next season or maybe seasons.

The suspense Indu season 1 created among audiences was unaffected in season 2 too but many might have lost interest to know the truth behind all the unexpected events that happened in Indu’s life. The story was stretched unnecessarily and the runtime of each episode looked a bit longer and the plot was obviously very weak. Out of 8 episodes the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, & 8th episodes looked perfect.

Ishaa Saha portraying the titular character once again delivers an outstanding performance. The way she handled the audience’s expectations is praiseworthy. She is certainly gearing up for some more challenging characters like this one in the future.

Suhotra Mukhopadhyay as Sujato was equally impressive here. His character looked more mysterious in season 2 and if the creator fails to focus properly on his character in the next installment it can disappoint audiences a lot.

Payel De and Manali Manisha Dey also delivered convincing performances. Mimi Dutta, Manashi Sinha, Judhajit Sarkar, Tanika Basu, & Chandraniv Mukhopadhyay provided ably support with their respective characters.

Director Abhimanyu Mukherjee did a perfect job by making the emotional scenes look real and perfectly used camera angles to enhance the narrative. The music and background score by Binit Ranjan Maitra, editing by Rabiranjan Maitra, & cinematography by Anujit Kundu were okay.

Creative Director Sahana Dutta who is also responsible for the story, screenplay, & dialogues of Indu 2 tried her best to meet the audience’s expectations but there are a lot of areas that need to be looked into for the next season.

The mystery thriller Indu 2 premiered on Hoichoi on 20th January 2023.
