The Ghost Movie Review: Story, Performances & Analysis

"The Ghost" is an action-packed thriller that opens with a thrilling sequence in East Arabia, where Interpol officer Vikram (Nagarjuna) and his partner Priya (Sonal Chauhan) successfully eliminate a group of terrorists in a camp. The film features two more action sequences and a song within the first 15 minutes, signaling to viewers that they are in for a thrilling ride.

Vikram is haunted by a traumatic past, for which he consults a psychiatrist. His boss believes that he struggles with controlling his anger, which hinders his work.

One day, Vikram receives a call from his sister Anu (Gul Panag), who tells him that she and her daughter Aditi's (Anikha Surendran) lives are in danger. Vikram is the only person she trusts to save them. Will Vikram be able to rescue them? What is Vikram's traumatic past, and who is the ghost?

Nagarjuna, a veteran actor who has appeared in over 100 films, continues to charm audiences with his performance in "The Ghost" despite being 63 years old. This is his second film of 2022, following "Bangarraju," which also features Ramya Krishna, Naga Chaitanya, and Krithi Shetty.

In addition to the action sequences, Nagarjuna's screen presence and acting are the highlights of "The Ghost." He and Sonal Chauhan share a delightful on-screen chemistry, which unfortunately is not fully explored in the film. Director Praveen Sattaru could have done more to develop their relationship.

Although Sonal Chauhan does not have a significant presence on screen, she manages to impress with her acting skills. Anikha Surendran is convincing as Aditi, and Gul Panag's character is unfortunately underdeveloped.

"The Ghost" was released on the same day as "Godfather," starring Megastar Chiranjeevi. Despite the latter's success, "The Ghost" has only earned Rs. 10.9 crore worldwide after eight days.

While the film's beginning is strong, an accident during the second action sequence slows down the narrative's pace. As the story progresses, it becomes predictable and lacks twists to keep viewers engaged. Director Praveen Sattaru could have explored Nagarjuna's past in more detail to add excitement to the story. Some of the fight scenes were not well executed, and the climax was disappointing.

Overall, "The Ghost" is an action-packed thriller that is worth watching for the solid performances by Nagarjuna, Sonal Chauhan, and Anikha Surendran, as well as its well-executed action sequences. However, it falls short in terms of narrative and character development.
