Paka Dekha (2022) Review: Story, Performances & Analysis

The story revolves around Joy(Soham Chakraborty) a bank employee with all the good qualities in him. His life lacks any enjoyment and activities that other people of his age do. Tiyasha(Susmita Chatterjee) is an IT sector employee who gets less time to enjoy life because of being overloaded with work pressure but she enjoys life fully and has all the bad habits in her.

Tiyasha’s parents were looking for a good guy to get their daughter married and they found Joy to be the most suitable guy. The rest of the story is about how Joy and Tiyasha fell for each other and whether they will be able to convince their parents of their marriage.

Paka Dekha suffers because of a weak script & poor execution. Director Premendu Bikash Chaki and writer Padmanabha Dasgupta have disappointed audiences with a logic-less romantic comedy where you can neither find the romantic angle nor the comedy.

The talents like Susmita Chatterjee and Soham Chakraborty have gone completely wasted. The only mentionable performance came from Kharaj Mukherjee. And you may wonder about the reasons for having some top performers like Laboni Sarkar, Sumanta Mukherjee, Dolon Roy, Dipankar Dey, and Abhijit Guha when you are unable to utilize them properly.

Even Music Director Jeet Ganguly who is consistently delivering blockbuster music albums for quite some time now in Tollywood as well as Bollywood failed to leave a mark in audiences’ hearts with his composition in Paka Dekha.

Soham Chakraborty who made his debut in a lead role with the movie Bajimaat in 2008 co-starring Subhashree Ganguly has not delivered a blockbuster movie for nearly a decade. The last movie where his performance was highly appreciated by audiences was Bojhena Shey Bojhena in 2012 directed by Raj Chakraborty.

Apart from that one performance, we have seen some of his other top-notch performances in a lead role in director Raj Chakraborty’s Prem Aamar co-starring Payel Sarkar, & director Rajiv Kumar Biswas’s Amanush co-starring Srabanti Chatterjee. It is high time he should choose scripts wisely because it’s better to choose scripts like Prem Aamar, Amanush, and Bojhena Shey Bojhena which will leave a mark among audiences than choosing 100 scripts like Paka Dekha.

Final Words

Paka Dekha is a romantic comedy movie that has a weak script, and poor performances which may leave you disappointed.
