Dhokha: Round D Corner (2022) Review: Story, Performances & Analysis

Dhokha: Round D Corner" is a mystery thriller that tells the story of Sanchi Sinha (Khushalii) and her husband Yatharth (Madhavan). The story begins with a romantic song that captures their sweet moments. However, the mood quickly changes when Sanchi asks for a divorce, and we are left in the dark about the reason behind it.

Yatharth receives an opportunity from his boss to meet a new client in Singapore, but due to his personal problems, he is hesitant to go. Later, while returning home, he discovers on the news that a terrorist named Haq Gul (Aparshakti Khurana) has taken Sanchi Sinha hostage and is demanding that the police fulfill his demands so that he can release her.

Sanchi tells her version of the story to Gul, revealing that Yatharth is having an affair with a psychiatrist named Vidya and that they are trying to prove Sanchi mentally unstable so that they can take her property. Gul falls for Sanchi and plans to escape with her. However, when Sanchi suddenly shows a different side of herself, Gul is forced to cancel the plan and return to their hideout. Sanchi's sudden change of behavior leaves Gul shocked and clueless.

Meanwhile, Yatharth tells ACP Malik (Darshan Kumar) a completely different version of the story than what Sanchi told Gul. We are left wondering which version of the story is real and which one is fake. Will Sanchi be able to return to Yatharth safely? The answer is revealed in the climax of the story.

The content of the movie is nothing new, except for the twist at the end. Aparshakti Khurana's performance in the second half is noteworthy, and he delivered an outstanding performance. However, the first half of the movie is dull, with weak dialogues by Neeraj Singh and none of the lead artists looking impressive. Darshan Kumar's performance as ACP Malik is forgettable, especially during his fight scene with Madhavan. Khushalii Kumar's portrayal of Sanchi is satisfactory.

Director Kookie Gulati's previous film, "The Big Bull," starring Abhishek Bachchan, received acclaim from both audiences and critics. However, "Dhokha: Round D Corner" deserves more attention for better execution.

Dhokha: Round D Corner Review: Final Words

In conclusion, "Dhokha: Round D Corner" is a movie that has some good moments, particularly in the second half, but falls short in its execution. While Aparshakti Khurana's performance stands out, the rest of the cast and the overall storyline could have been better developed.
