Rashtra Kavach Om (2022) Review: Story, Performances & Analysis
The makers had earlier titled the movie Om: The battle within but they had to change the title to Rashtra Kavach Om due to the problem they faced with title rights.
The movie started with a fight scene and we came to know that Om (Aditya Roy Kapur), a para-commando survived a near-to-death situation when he was sent on a secret mission.
He has lost his memory and except for his father Dev (Jackie Shroff), who is a nuclear scientist & missing for many years, he is unable to recognize people around him. His father has been declared a traitor as he left the country with the Kavach which is the blueprint of defense technology.
Om’s teammate Kavya (Sanjana Sanghi) is currently looking after him. She is reporting to army officer Jai Rathore (Ashutosh Rana, Om’s uncle) about Om’s health progress.
His mother (Prachee Shah Pandya) was hopeful that after seeing her, he may get his memory back. At her request, Jai brings Om to their house but he failed to recognize his mother.
Om was appointed on the mission of bringing back the Kavach to the country by Jai Rathore and his senior officer Murthy (Prakash Raj). The rest of the story is about how Om brings back the Rashtra Kavach.
Aditya Roy Kapur’s muscular body and action choreography were the only good areas Rashtra Kavach Om offers. If anything else was there then it was Prachee Shah Pandya’s outstanding performance which adds the emotional elements perfectly. Elnaaz Nrouzi made a guest appearance for the item song Kala Sha Kala.
The versatile actors like Ashutosh Rana, Jackie Shroff, and Prakash Raj did not live up to the expectations. A few scenes like Ashutosh Rana’s expression after hearing Om comes out of a coma, and Dil Bechara fame Sanjana Sanghi’s expression during their conversation with the doctor is indicating director Kapil Verma’s poor direction.
The moviegoers would certainly love to see Aditya Roy Kapur in more action movies but he needs to choose the scripts wisely. Because an actor of his calibre who has delivered solid performances in hit movies like Aashiqui 2 co-starring Shraddha Kapoor, Guzaarish co-starring Hrithik Roshan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Malang co-starring Kunal Khemu, Disha Patani & Anil Kapoor, deserves better movies than Rashtra Kavach Om.
The Rashtra Kavach Om movie’s total Box Office collection on Friday and Saturday was Rs. 3.21 crore (only in India).

If you are a die-hard fan of Aditya Roy Kapur then you will definitely love watching him in an action movie for the first time.
