The film was earlier scheduled to be released on 25th December 2020 but got delayed due to the pandemic. On 18th Oct 2021, the makers announced to release the movie on 24th December 2021.
Nani & Rahul Sankrityan’s Maiden Collaboration:
On 14th October 2021, Nani released the first look motion poster teaser of his character Vasu in “Shyam Singha Roy” movie which is based on the theme of reincarnation. This is the first time director Rahul Sankrityan and actor Nani is collaborating. The shooting of this period drama movie was done mainly in Kolkata and Hyderabad.
The shooting of Shyam Singha Roy was wrapped up on 26th July 2021. Natural star Nani & Dancing Queen Sai Pallavi will play the male lead and female lead respectively. Krithi Shetty, Madonna Sebastian, Jisshu Sengupta, and Rahul Ravindran will be also seen in crucial roles. Mickey J. Meyer will compose the songs of Shyam Singha Roy.
Director Rahul Sankrityan came to fame after directing the supernatural comedy thriller Taxiwaala starring Vijay Deverakonda, Priyanka Jawalkar, and Malavika Nair.

Shyam Singha Roy is the most expensive movie in Nani's career to date & will be bankrolled by producer Venkat Boyanapalli under his banner Niharika Entertainment. Soon Nani will start shooting for director Vivek Athreya’s upcoming movie “Ante Sundaraniki” co-starring Nazriya.
Madonna Sebastian has made her Malayalam debut with Premam starring Nivin Pauly, Sai Pallavi, Anupama Parameswaran, & Tamil debut with Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum & Telugu debut with Premam starring Naga Chaitanya, Shruti Haasan, Anupama Parameswaran. She is also making her debut in Kannada Film Industry with Kotigobba 3 opposite Kichcha Sudeep.
Krithi Shetty made her debut in Telugu with the romantic drama movie Uppena starring Panja Vaisshnav Tej, and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead roles. Nani’s only movie released this year is director Shiva Nirvana’s action family drama genre movie “Tuck Jagadish”.
