What “Gangulys Wed Guhas” is all about?
It’s about two Bengali families Gangulys and Guhas who live at old Nilmoni Mitra Lane & Ballygunge place respectively. The younger members of these families Pranay(Samadarshi Dutta) & Modhura(Amrita Chattopadhyay) are in love with each other from their college days and now they want to tie the knot.
Watching “Gangulys Wed Guhas” on KLIKK OTT platform will be like witnessing a Bengali marriage from "Paka Dekha" and "Aiburo Bhaat" to the reception and the joy, happiness, fun moments as well as the tough time these two families go through during this process.
Actor Samadarshi Dutta has made his big-screen debut with the movie "Sathi Amar Bondhu Amar". Thereafter he worked in director Anasua Roy Chowdhury’s movie “Hing Ting Chot” in 2011. He was also part of the movie “Ami Aadu” which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Bengali. Then he starred in Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy director duo’s directorial debut movie “Icche”.
Amrita Chattopadhyay has made her debut with director Buddhadeb Dasgupta’s movie “Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa” in 2013, starring Ananya Chatterjee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi in the lead roles. She was so excited for her character in “Gangulys Wed Guhas”, as well as working with Samadarshi Dutta.
Saumya Sengupta, Romi Choudhuri, Biplab Bandyopadhyay, Sudipa Bose, Kaushiki, Ebong Ipsita, Shoumo Banerjee are playing crucial roles in this web series.
Aritra Sengupta’s screenplay & dialogues as well as Sravan Bhattacharyya’s music composition are highlights of this series.
The song “Du Chokhe Harai” of “Gangulys Wed Guhas” by Ujjaini Mukherjee is one of my personal favourites.
