Miss India (2020) Telugu Movie Review: Story

The story of Miss India revolves around Manasa Samyuktha(Keerthy Suresh) a woman from a middle-class family with a big dream of starting her own tea business someday. Like every other start-up, she had many challenges, or we should say she had bigger challenges just because she is a woman dreaming of something big in a male-dominated society.

The back-to-back tragedies in her family left them struggling to make ends meet. Her elder sister got married without informing the family. Her grandfather Dr. Vishwanath(Rajendra Prasad) passed away. The doctor informed them about her dad Sivarama Krishna’s(Naresh) Alzheimer's.

Manasa’s brother Arjun Chaitanya(Kamal Kamaraju) got a job offer in the US and the whole family decided to move there. After completing her MBA, she planned to start her business but her brother suggests a job.

At a party, she met Vijay Anand(Naveen Chandra), and slowly they started liking each other. Her brother offered her to attend an interview which co-incidentally was in Vijay’s company. They work for some time but later she had to leave the job and Vijay as well.

Then she decided to start her tea business, but after a few attempts, she realized the tough task ahead for her. She overcame many difficulties and finally got the chance to meet Kailash Siva Kumar Aka KSK(Jagapathi Babu), the owner of KSK coffee company, an established coffee business in the US.

With the help of investor Vikram(Sumanth Shailendra), she could finally start her business. Miss India was the brand name Manasa gave to her product. The rest of the story revolves around the ups and downs of Manasa’s journey toward fulfilling her dream.

Performance & Analysis:

Keerthy Suresh is the only reason you can watch Netflix’s, Miss India. It looked like the talented actress had so much to offer with her role of Manasa Samyuktha but the poor writing didn’t let that happen. The film was mainly shot in the US but the people and the surroundings will leave you wondering about that.

Director Narendra Nath partly succeeded in bringing another top-notch performance from Keerthy Suresh. S. Thaman once again was at his best providing a good background score that made a few scenes much better.

What is good about the Miss India movie?

Keerthy Suresh’s brilliant performance and S. Thaman’s solid music & background score were the highlights of the Miss India movie.

What is bad about the Miss India movie?

Poor writing, lack of focus in building the characters, lack of basic emotions & lack of depth in the story might disappoint you about the Miss India movie.
