Black Widows Review: Story & Performances
The story of the web series revolves around three women Veera(Mona Singh), Jayati(Swastika Mukherjee), Kavita (Shamita Shetty) living unhappy married lives. Jatin Mehrotra’s (Sharad Kelkar) comment about killing their daughter & his rude behavior makes Veera worried.
Jayati(Swastika Mukherjee) was frustrated with Lalit Sardesai’s(Mohan Kapur) abusive behavior which was increasing day by day. Nilesh Tharoor (Vipul Roy) sometimes makes Kavita(Shamita Shetty) uncomfortable by forcing her with his business partners.
One day they decided to kill their husbands and then successfully executed the plan with a bomb blast. They experienced freedom after so long and they started celebrating it.
Soon, Inspector Rinku (Shruti Vyas) started the investigation and took statements from each one of them. Inspector Pankaj(Parambrata Chattopadhyay) joined the investigation and he was trying to find some clues faster. Veera got closer to Eddie (Amir Ali) in the absence of Jatin.
None were aware of the fact that luckily Jatin was the only one to be survived the blast. He initially thought that Inayaa (Raima Sen) did that blast. He followed Rameez (Shaheb Chattopadhyay) to get some clues about the person responsible for the blast. Inayaa had given Jatin a bag full of money which Veera, Jayati & Kavita found and they kept it hidden.
Rameez also visited Veera & Jayati’s house in search of that money. The sudden appearance of Jatin left Veera completely shocked.
She introduced Jatin as Nitin to Eddie and handles the situation by telling Eddie that Nitin is suffering from some kind of disease. The story slowly unfolds after each episode and some twists have made the storytelling more intriguing.
This is director Birsa Dasgupta’s second web series. His first web series Mafia which was a psychological thriller also released on ZEE5 on 10th July 2020. He continues his good work here also and we are expecting that he will continuously provide us lots more great content in the coming days.
Some top performances have been delivered here by Mona Singh, Swastika Mukherjee, Sharad Kelkar, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, and Raima Sen.
The rest of the star cast also did not disappoint us with their respective characters. Music director Aditya Pushkarna also scores high for this murder mystery thriller.
