Scam 1992 Web Series Review:
The story of Scam 1992 was based on the book “The Scam: Who Won, Who Lost, Who Got Away” written by the famous former Times of India journalist Sucheta Dalal and Debashish Basu(her husband).
An employee of The States Bank Of India Sharath Bellary(played by Sharib Hashmi) at the Times Of India’s Bombay branch to meet the editor. He met with Sucheta and informed her that there was a scam of Rs 500 Crores at SBI.
Sucheta asked about the person doing this fraud then Sharath informed her it was the stockbroker Harshad Mehta(played by Pratik Gandhi). Sucheta started thinking about whether this financial scam can be printed in their newspaper.
Harshad Mehta’s career started like any other person's with some random jobs. Slowly he shifted his focus on the share market and became serious about making a career in it.
He belongs to a Gujarati family and lives in a joint family with his parents, his wife Jyoti (played by Anjali Barot), and elder brother Ashwin(played by Hemant Kher).
Harshad loves dreaming big and always had the support of his wife and elder brother. He joined a stock broking company as a Jobber. Once he understood the major tricks of the stock market, he decided to quit the job.
He and his brother decided to open their own Trading Account. His predictions were going right and he was rising to the top and getting noticed by others. His popularity increased day by day and People started to call him “Amitabh Bachchan of Dalal Street”.
Not everyone was happy with his sudden rise, so he was targeted by the likes of Manu Mundra (played by Satish Kaushik). Manu Mundra and his team planned to beat him by spreading some rumors.
Harshad came to know about this through his sources and planned to clear all the dues. He was well aware that they could not bear his reputation. His plan sent them a strong message that Harshad Mehta was here to stay and rule the stock market.
Director Hansal Mehta continues to deliver the masterpieces. If not best then Scam 1992-The Harshad Mehta Story will be considered one of his great works. We are eagerly waiting for his next project Chhalaang.
Pratik Gandhi made a remarkable digital debut with the Scam 1992-The Harshad Mehta Story web series. No doubt he was able to deliver one of the finest performances of this year. The web series should be among one of the best released this year.
Shreya Dhanwanthary also did a great job here. The rest of the star cast also did pretty well which made this web series must watch. We have already seen many rags-to-riches stories in Hindi movies but this one brings something special to the table.
If you are looking for a good web series with a great story and some brilliant performances then Scam 1992-The Harshad Mehta Story deserves inclusion in your watchlist.
