Harano Prapti (2020) Bengali Movie Review: Story & Performances
The story of Harano Prapti Movie revolves around Mainak (played by Soham Chakraborty), a car designer from London whose family stays in Kolkata. He planned to take a break from his job to spend some time with his parents.
His girlfriend Namrata(played by Payel Sarkar) works in the same company’s Kolkata branch. After the meeting with his girlfriend, he saw a girl Maya (played by Tanusree Chakraborty) on his way back.
Seeing her in critical condition he took her to the hospital. The doctor informed him that she was brutally gang-raped.
The next morning he arrived at the hospital to check her health status. Through one of the staff, he came to know a few powerful people came and took her with them.
After searching for her in many places he finally saw her on a bus. He took her to a safe place and started looking after her.
Namrata observed their closeness and decided to break her relationship with Mainak. Women trafficking racket’s local leader Sona Shaikh (played by Sourav Das) sent his men to catch the girl and they succeeded.
This time he was finding it difficult to get her back. He was supported by two kind-hearted people. The rest of the story revolved around whether Mainak finally got Maya back in his life or not.
The story was quite common and also it was lacking some twists. We must appreciate Director Raja Chanda for raising awareness on such issues through his movie “Harano Prapti”.
He has already directed some good Bengali movies including “Le Halua Le”, “Rangbaaz”, “Bagh Bandi Khela”, and many more. Harano Prapti was certainly not among his best works.
The lead star cast including Soham Chakraborty, Payel Sarkar, and Tanushree Chakraborty contributed quite well with their good screen presence.
He has completed the shooting finally for his upcoming movie “Magic” starring Ankush and Oindrila.
Harano Prapti Bengali movie was released on 13th September 2020 on ZEE5.
