Yuvvraaj, directed by Subhash Ghai, was released on 21 November 2008. Despite a hefty budget of ₹48 crore, the film could only earn a Net Collection in India of ₹16.89 crore, making it a flop at the box office.

Veer, directed by Anil Sharma, was released on 22 January 2010. Made on a budget of ₹45 crore, the film recorded a Net Collection in India of ₹38.14 crore and was also declared a flop.

Kick, directed by Sajid Nadiadwala, was released on 25 July 2014. With a massive budget of ₹140 crore, the film was a huge success, earning a Net Collection in India of ₹211.63 crore and achieving blockbuster status.

Although most of the films featuring Salman Khan and Mithun Chakraborty did not perform well at the box office, their final collaboration, Kick, turned out to be truly worthwhile.
