S. S. Rajamouli's directorial fantasy action comedy film Yamadonga re released in theatres on 18th May 2025. Starring N. T. Rama Rao Jr., Mohan Babu, Priyamani, and Mamta Mohandas in the lead roles, the film was originally released in theatres on 15 August 2007.
With a budget of ₹16–18 crore, the film was a commercial success, grossing an estimated ₹38 crore and becoming the highest-grossing Telugu film of 2007. This film marked the maiden collaboration between N. T. Rama Rao Jr and Priyamani.
Based on a story by V. Vijayendra Prasad, the film's screenplay was handled by S. S. Rajamouli, while the dialogues were written by M. Rathnam. Yamadonga marked director S. S. Rajamouli's maiden collaboration with Mohan Babu, Priyamani, and Mamta Mohandas.
Yamadonga marked the 6th directorial venture of S. S. Rajamouli after Student No: 1, Simhadri, Sye, Chatrapathi, and Vikramarkudu. K. K. Senthil Kumar handled the cinematography of this film, marking his 3rd collaboration with director S. S. Rajamouli after Sye, Chatrapathi.

The film’s popularity led to its dubbing into multiple languages—a year later in Hindi as Lok Parlok, and subsequently in Tamil (Vijayan, 2016), Awadhi (Chor Raja), and Kannada (Yama Raj).
At the 2008 Nandi Awards, the film won Best Editor for Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao, Best Makeup Artist for Nalla Seenu, Best Costume Designer for Rama Rajamouli, and Best Special Effects for Kamal Kannan.
The film features supporting performances by Narendra Jha, Ali, Brahmanandam, Khushbu, Jaya Prakash Reddy, Siva Parvathi, Raghubabu, Ranganath, Rajiv Kanakala, Naresh, Narsing Yadav, Bharani, M. S. Narayana, and Stunt Silva.
At the 2008 Filmfare Awards South, N. T. Rama Rao Jr. won the Filmfare Best Actor Award – Telugu for his outstanding performance in this film. N. T. Rama Rao Jr. was honored with the Best Actor award at the 2008 CineMAA Awards for his performance in this film.
